Other Pet Fostering Services. There are various organisations in the UK that provide a pet fostering service. These services provide fostering for families fleeing domestic abuse, the elderly and other personal crisis. Over 700 volunteers work at or around our three centres in London, Old Windsor and Brands Hatch and we regularly recruit for new volunteers. Because Temporary Boarders need to drop off their dogs every morning and collect them again in the evening, they tend to be people who work close to our training centres in. Caring for over 7,000 animals each year, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home has been operating in central London since 1860 by caring for and re-homing animals in need. Volunteering here can range from. The service user loves animals, especially dogs and his long-term goal is to get his own dog one day so he needs some practice in looking after one! The volunteer and their dog can help the service user prepare to be a good owner by going for walks, petting and playing together, learning how dogs interact with other dogs and how to keep dogs.
